Festival season brings out the best and worst of group travel. The best: shared anticipation, the journey as part of the experience, arriving together. The worst: missed coaches, traffic gridlock, and the long walk back to a vehicle parked in a field three miles from the exit. Here's how to get the first without the second.
Festival coach hire sells out. The most popular events — Glastonbury, Latitude, the Edinburgh Festival, major sporting finals — see demand for group transport spike months in advance. If you know your dates, book as soon as possible. Waiting until six weeks out is a gamble.
Every festival site is different. Some have dedicated coach parks close to the entrance; others route coaches to remote drop-off points with shuttle connections. Research the site layout before you book and share this information with your operator. A driver who has never been to the venue is a liability.
The return journey from a festival is almost always harder than the arrival. Crowds are tired, the site is congested, and everyone leaves at the same time. Agree a clear meeting point and departure time with your group in advance — and stick to it. A coach cannot wait indefinitely in a managed exit queue.
Festivals mean camping gear, wellies, and — for some groups — professional equipment. Be honest with your operator about what you're bringing. Underestimating luggage volume leads to vehicles that can't close their hold doors, which is nobody's idea of a good start.
Not everyone wants to camp. For day visitors to festivals, a coach transfer from a nearby town or city is often the most practical option — it removes the parking problem entirely and means everyone can enjoy the day without worrying about driving home. We run regular day-tripper services to major UK festivals throughout the season.

From board away-days to large-scale conferences, the vehicle you choose sets the tone before anyone steps inside. Here's what to consider when booking group transport for a corporate occasion.
